Industries: ownership and control

1)
2)In my opinion, I think that the government should stop media conglomerates from becoming too powerful as they overpower their rivals which offers the conglomerate an unfair disadvantage. However, conglomerate companies are dominant due to their high budgets and quality (which is better than their rivals). Furthermore, the government shouldn't stop media conglomerates from becoming powerful as they gain dominance from their own success.
3)The production process provides audiences with the media products they want. It needs to consider the audiences' desires and should provide the gratifications that are expected. The promotion process researches and indentifies the target audience and uses advertising and marketing strategies to inform and persuade them of the value of the media product. The distribustion process uses the most appropriate methods for getting the product to the audience and making it as easy as possible for them to access it.
4)There are a variety of funding models. For example: the BBC is funded through a licence fee. It shows programmes with a regional interests. ITV is funded by advertisers. Sky One gains their income through subscribtions- audiences choose whether they pay for it or not therefore, their audience is considered as loyal.
5)-Spotify is an online music subscription that you pay monthly. It enables you to listen to music and download music without any interuption from advertisements.
-Disney is a popular family friendly media brand. Their main focus is children's entertainment.
-Marvel, as a whole, is linked with heros and 'good vs evil'. This wide genre type ensures that anyone can watch their films including all ages. They are owned by Disney.
6)3D technology has been invested in by the media, this encourages more people to watch movies in the cinema.
7)Companies that revolve around technology are increasingly becoming more significant: Facebook, Google, ect.
8)I agree that traditional media institutions are struggling to survive due to technological advances. For example, people use Google as you can use it for multiple purposes. Therefore, traditional media institutions such as the BBC news aren't necessary as people are able to check it through Google as well as do many other things.
9)Diversification will allow companies to gain a larger audience as they would be able to cater for more people. It is harder for traditional media institutions to survive unless they adapt so that they can gain their audience back, ensuring that they are stable.
10)Personally, I interpret that the audiences will be dominant over conglomerates eventually, as they focus on their audience's interest. If they don't do this, then their audience will decrease.

Score Advert

Wider reading: 1. In the 1960s, advertising techniques were shown in a time of new and improved way to advertise. Back then, advertising agencies focused on the creativity when planning their campaigns. Score reflects that change as it focuses more on gender roles and sexuality more than it focuses on the product itself. It is significant as the advert symbolises how women were; it objectified the women because they are admiring the male while they carry him- this signifies the fact that men are dominant. 2. During the post war period, campaigns included the idea that women should stick to being housewives. 3. The props that are used in this advert reinforce the idea of gender roles. For example, the only male is holding a gun; this could assert his masculinity and automatically give him all of the power. Also, it could be see as a phallic symbol; the women are all reaching up to him to get their hands on him. This could be seen as sexual as all of the women want him. Also, the cost...
